Small Mercies Tree Blessings & Prayers

Welcome To The Sunday Tree Blessing MinisTree

Our Sunday blessing service is tied in to the weekly Tuesday Tree Teachings for those who would like to take part in prayer, thanksgiving and benediction for a green and growing communiTree for people and planet. It is designed as I have have already described, to be an interfaith activity and all beliefs and none are welcome in the AST MinisTree.

These interfaith prayers and blessings celebrate our sacred connection with nature and the living miracle of our planet Earth.

Prayer

May we stand as patient as trees waiting for the sun to return. When clouds come down pressing on the land let the light return within and without. When the time seems to have run out of life as a featureless never ending grey desert, let hope keep some flower seeds in its pocket.

Goddess Lakshmi help us to see abundance in life even on the dullest and darkest of days. May we see a crocus as the lotus flower you emerge from, may we see the rains as the two elephants who stand by your side. May you gift us with sunshine in dark times and fill our hearts with hope for brighter days. May we open our hearts to see in nature the true embodiment of abundance, and seeing this, treasure it all the more. May this treasure fill our hearts with gratitude and the vigour of a fresh green shoot for a new day. Please look upon us kindly.

Blessing

Oh cloud so grey and glowering with your stern face keeping watch, may the rains you hold be full of life. Though you are a strict teacher your pewter visage makes memories of sunshine all the brighter. Without you we would not appreciate clear skies and the colours of nature. Your presence drains out colours making a world not quite asleep and not quite awake. Not dark not light but walking a path between, you whisper of other worlds just beyond vision. You make us work to find the magic of the world and in doing so make it all the more precious.

Prayers and blessings are a way of creating greater #awareness both in ourselves and also of the world around us. They can be used as a positive #gratitude practice in a world that so often has no time for anything but endless rush and endless consumption. (With #climatechange and the current environmental destruction taking place we can all see perfectly well where this attitude is taking us and our fellow beings). A brief prayer or blessing even of just a minute can be a tool used for good #mentalhealth through developing #selfawareness, to reconnect us with #life and our surroundings and to change our perspective of the #naturalworld and our place within it.
