Life can be stressful and feel meaningless, a daily grind that we lose ourselves in. Even the best of us can end up wondering who we are, what are we doing and why. We can feel lonely and isolated. Our mental and physical health can suffer. Environmental degradation, pollution, climate change leave us feeling helpless and fearful for our future. It is so easy to lose sight of what is good in the world.

Volunteer run not for profit project Ancient and Sacred Trees was founded in January 2014 protecting and planting trees. We protect and plant trees in the UK and Tropics, and celebrate mental health and wellbeing. We are based at Wild Spirit Woods in Cheshire, England. We support the Wld Spirit Woods community interest company. This is born out of our community, set up by our founder, caring for land in the heart of the British Isles in Cheshire on the edge of the Peak District.

Ancient and Sacred Trees Over A Decade Celebrating Roots Old and New

We dispel the negative noise of social media celebrating good mental health and wellbeing by celebrating the beauty and wonder of our wild world through trees. In the last 4 years we have also planted 6000+ trees in the Tropics and UK while supporting tree defenders and communities. Our tree planting certificates, tee shirts and more online restore landscapes and biodiversity while protecting people from slavery and child exploitation in the Tropics and rewilding one of the most nature deleted countries in the world in the UK.

We Make a Difference!

Wild Spirited Woodland, Wildlife and Wellbeing

Wild Spirit Woods CIC is now a Nature First haven for our wild friends. The CIC is host to us and some other wonderful friends including Staffordshire Moorlands Forest School.

(A Community Interest Company is set up for social good. It is half way between a charity and a normal company. The assets are protected forever but it can trade and gain an income like an ordinary business. )

We run many activities for free or discounted rates at our on-the-ground-home in South Cheshire. We also work off site to bring the wild world to people who otherwise might not get chance to experience our services. Plus we also cater to Special Needs children and adults. We run volunteer community and conservation activities to care for Wild Spirit Woods.

How Do We Make A Difference To YOU?

 We provide experiences that take you away from stress, anxiety and self criticism and in to a supportive space of peace, relaxation and self acceptance. Our community includes not just humans, but also plants trees and supports our wild friends including animals, birds and others. We also provide opportunities to deepen your personal spiritual (in whatever ever way that means to you) connection with yourself and the world around you.

We have an especial focus on neurodiversity, mental health, young people and those marginalised on the edges of society. We are neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ friendly. Our founder and many in our wider team are autistic and/or ADHD. The directors of the CIC also have hidden disabilities. The team are trained professionals in teaching/coaching, therapies, arts, mentoring, with many decades of experience between them.

We empower you to take your positive place in the world. We use our therapeutic skills of nature connection, the arts, mindfulness, meditation, bushcraft and more. Our events enable experiences that bring you to places of magic and mystery, deep relaxation and wild wonder within a community of likeminded folks. Our courses and workshops create opportunities to learn and develop skills, having fun, while providing places to put them into practice.

We don't have to be religious to explore our soul full selves, we just need to create the conditions where we can learn to open our hearts and trust ourselves. To enable this to happen we create safe supportive spaces where people can just sit and be. We know that happy people make the world a better place.
