We see you Tall Shimmering Ones whose leaves flutter and dance on the whisper pf a breath of wind. Oh Light And Beautiful Dancers, may you dance lightly and beautifully in your grace. May you bedecked with your jewels be witnessed fully, completely and all who witness you fall in love with your presence, your gifts, your soul. Though you may have broken branches may all who see you see, not the broken, but the beauty you hold, the jewels balanced on each and every leaf. We thank you for your graceful presence and the gift of beauty you share with each and every leaf. We thank you for your ability to share with us the beauty of the world through each moment of a life well lived.
These interfaith prayers and blessings celebrate our sacred connection with nature and the living miracle of our planet Earth. Oh changing, changeable, challenging One! with your lightening swift ability to turn tables, to topsy turvey the world we think we know into a new landscape unknown. How great is your gift of tricks, transformations and turn arounds. Travellers on the twisting road of life may fear or revere you but always you turn up to trip up the turncoats and the tawdry trinket sellers while gifting treasures to those tread with thought and who yearn for truth. Great sphinx both mutable and immutable it is in your endless riddles and questions that the answer lies like a jewel on an aspen leaf. May all who witness you see the gifts that you bring and go well with your blessings on their journeys.
Tree Prayer
Let us pray for our trees, these green jewels that grace the earth as guardians of the world. So many questions being asked by more and more humans about how we might save the planet and ourselves. May the spirit of the Sphinx and the spirit of the trees open our eyes and hearts to the answers to our questions, which are really our yearning to come home to ourselves as part of this earth. This is the jewel we pray for. Let it be so.
